Gpark is the opposite of a box mall: an open-air commercial street of low buildings, plazas and light installations in the Daxing district northwest of the wall. Long before the Tree of Life existed, this was Xi'an's benchmark for mall-as-public-space — evening strolls, big restaurant terraces, and the city's coziest neon-lit street life outside the tourist core.

What it is

A deliberately un-boxed shopping street: restaurants, cafés, a cinema and lifestyle retail wrapped around open plazas, built by the Lianhu district as the anchor of its Daxing redevelopment. Locals treat it as a public living room — kids scooting between fountains, couples on restaurant terraces, photographers working the light installations after dark. It pioneered the "experience retail" idea in Xi'an that the newer MixC generation now competes with.

Why visitors bother

Honest framing: Gpark is a local-evening place, not a sight. It earns a spot on your list if you want one dinner-and-stroll night that isn't the Muslim Quarter — big restaurant concentrations, outdoor seating, and people-watching with almost zero tourists.
